BWW Classic Online Only

This is our 8-week entry-level flagship course for fiction and creative non-fiction. Online only. This workshop will hone your skills as a writer. We will focus on a particular aspect of the writing craft each week.

This is an intensive, fun, horizon-widening ride that will cover narrative styles, editing techniques, appreciating literary genres, and the critical analysis of published work. Did we mention that you will be writing and reading a lot too? A heck of a lot, but we promise it will push you and change you for the better. You will be required to share your own writing and give constructive criticism to other writers in the workshop. Whether you are starting out, or are a little more seasoned, this course will steer you in the right direction.

Being a community intensive course, we don't take more than 10 students in a batch, but need a minimum of three students to make a batch. We have partnered with WetInk to provide you access to an online organic community that BWW has created so far, which will continue to inspire your writing long after the course is over.

We also have regular meet-ups with published authors, agents, and publishers for the community.

Who is it targeted at?
The course is targeted towards beginners and intermediate writers. From people who have grown up reading to those that started not long ago. From people who write blogs, short stories, and non-fiction to people that have a novel inside them that wants out.

There is an application process. This is not meant to intimidate you. The application process allows us to gauge seriousness of intent and creative competency. Please apply!

What is expected from the participants?
An open mind. An interest to learn and a willingness to get out of their comfort zone.

You will need to bond and build a community of writers within the city. You will be expected to have a lot of fun.

Please note, the course is fairly intensive. You will be writing, reading, and critiquing a considerable amount of fiction and creative non-fiction during the week.

You will also be using the private, specially-built-for-BWW WetInk platform to share your work with the class.

What are the takeaways for the participants?
We ask you to read our testimonials and see what our community members have said.
